P.D. McArthur was a noted breeder, importer and judge of Ayrshire cattle who devoted his active career to improving conditions for the dairy farmer.
He developed the famous Cherry Bank herd, which made a valuable contribution to improvement of the Ayrshire breed.
Among the many high offices held by Mr. McArthur were the following: president of the Ayrshire Breeders’ Association of Canada; president of the United Milk Producers of Quebec and president of the Quebec Farm Forum.
P.D. McArthur était un éleveur reconnu, importateur et juge de race Ayrshire qui a consacré sa carrière à l’amélioration des conditions pour les producteurs laitiers.
Il a développé le célèbre troupeau Cherry Bank, qui a apporté une contribution inestimable à l’amélioration de la race Ayrshire.
Parmi les nombreux comités où a siégé M. McArthur, on retrouve: président de l’Association des éleveurs Ayrshire du Canada; président des Producteurs de lait unis du Québec, président du Quebec Farm Forum.
