Col. Robert McEwen was a distinguished breeder of Aberdeen Angus cattle and Southdown sheep, who on many occasions, gained distinction for himself and brought honour to Canada by winning championships in the Carlot Lamb classes at the Chicago International.
Aside from affairs connected with the management of his own enterprise he took an active part in the organization of enterprises, which have become national institutions. Included in the positions which he occupied were the following: charter director of the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair; president of the Canadian Co-Operative Wool Growers Limited; president of the Ontario Provincial Winter Fair and chairman of the Ontario Stallion Enrolment Board.
Le Colonel Robert McEwen était un éleveur de renom de bovins de race Aberdeen Angus et d’agneaux Southdown, qui, à plusieurs reprises, se sont distingué et fait honneur au Canada en remportant les championnats dans les classes d’agneau Carlot au Chicago International.
Au-delà de la gestion de sa propre entreprise, il a pris une part active dans l’organisation des entreprises qui deviendront des institutions nationales. Il a siégé aux conseils administratifs de plusieurs associations, incluant : administrateur agréé du Royal Agricultural Winter Fair; président du Canadian Co-Operative Wool Growers Limited, président de l’Ontario Provincial Winter Fair et de l’Ontario Stallion Enrolment Board.
