W.H. Corning

W.H. Corning was a pioneer Guernsey breeder who provided outstanding leadership in the development and expansion of his favourite breed. Mr. Corning played a leading role in the organization and incorporation of the Canadian Guernsey Breeders’ Association. Until a few years ago, many of the Guernsey herds in eastern Canada could be traced to animals bred by Mr. Corning.

By diligently pursuing a policy of R.O.P. testing and exhibiting at major shows, he affirmed his faith in both performance and type programs. Because of the high esteem in which he was held, many breeders were inspired to follow his example.
